Role description

St Brigid's Catholic Primary School seeks an outstanding Intervention Teacher to join our innovative, collaborative teaching team in 2027.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for an educator with expertise in, or a strong interest in, intervention, assessment, literacy and numeracy improvement, and using data to enhance student outcomes. The successful applicant will work closely with classroom teachers, learning support staff and school leaders to strengthen high-quality Tier 1 instruction while coordinating and delivering targeted Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions across a year level.

At St Brigid's, we believe that every student can succeed when provided with explicit, evidence-based instruction and the right level of support and challenge. We are looking for a teacher who shares this belief and is committed to ensuring all students experience success, growth and belonging.

The successful applicant will build strong partnerships with students, families, colleagues, and the wider community, and contribute positively to our culture of high expectations, continuous improvement, and collective responsibility for student learning.

They will have a passion for Cognitive Science and a deep commitment to the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement. They will understand the importance of evidence-informed practice and be committed to deliberate planning and sequencing of learning, explicit teaching, and instructional approaches grounded in research on how students learn.
