Role description
Heritage College Perth is a K-12 College located in the beautiful, tree-lined foothills of Perth in Forrestfield. Our students are recognised for their strong academic achievement and enjoy a close-knit and caring school community.
We are seeking to employ an experienced, inspirational, and enthusiastic Secondary Mathematics Teacher. This is a 0.6-0.7 FTE role commencing Term 1, 2027. The role may include Pastoral Care duties with one of our combined secondary cohorts and therefore would suit someone who is passionate about teenagers and the unique challenges and opportunities which they face at this important stage of their development and learning. There may also be the opportunity to teach in a second learning area, but this will be considered to suit the strengths of the successful candidate.
The opportunity exists in this small school to:
- develop a passion for inspiring a love of learning in students, in particular, teenagers
- make solid connections with students that give them a different and more open perspective of mathematics
- determine and manage the learning style and focus in subject lessons
- coordinate Mathematics extension and challenge classes for able Primary students, dependent on student numbers
- influence the building of a whole school Mathematics approach by giving support and direction to the primary sector
