The Team
Orford Primary School is seeking a motivated and skilled Instructional Specialist to lead and strengthen the delivery of high-quality literacy and numeracy instruction across our whole school, Kindergarten to Year 6.
Working closely with the Principal and leadership team, the successful applicant will lead the implementation, monitoring and ongoing development of evidence-informed teaching practices to improve student learning outcomes. The role will focus on building teacher capacity through professional learning, instructional coaching, collaborative planning, classroom support and the analysis of student achievement data to inform teaching and targeted interventions.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educational leader who is passionate about instructional excellence, collaborative practice and driving continuous improvement in a supportive school community.
About the Role
The primary focus of this role is to support the implementation and embedding of the minimum schooling guarantee for reading and, where there is capacity, to include attention on strengthening numeracy practices. The role will do this through enabling school leadership staff and teaching teams to implement evidence-based, consistent and aligned strategies for the teaching of literacy and numeracy, to improve the learning outcomes for all students within the classroom.
The role will support the implementation of the essential elements of the multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework. This will include a focus on quality Tier 1 instruction, and processes and practices for Tiers 2 and 3.
