Location Profile
Kiewa Valley Primary School is a rural, community school with a student population of 140 students. We are located in the township of Tangambalanga in the beautiful Kiewa Valley, but still only 24km from Albury/Wodonga. Approximately forty percent of our students travel to school by bus from nearby communities such as Kergunyah, Gundowring, Charleroi, Huon, Kiewa and Allans Flat. We serve a wide range of different communities, who share our school as a common link to one another.

This makes for a smooth and successful transition for students and families as they move from one area to another, giving the Kindergarten students the use of school facilities when required.
Our school community is predominantly low non English speaking and mid to high socio-economic status. In 2026 we have a six grade structure. Auslan, Science, Performing Arts, Visual Art, and Physical Education are specialist areas of the curriculum which support and connect to our classroom programs.
In 2027 we will continue to work on the full implementation of the VTLM 2.0 with a continued focus on reading, writing and mathematics. Our staff are both passionate and collaborative in their work.
Our school community is built on positive relationships. It is the relationships that exist between individuals and groups within and beyond the school which are seen as being of vital importance. Along with relationships, the education, safety…
