About Bass Coast Specialist School
Bass Coast Specialist School opened with just seven students and, in 2027 and will have more than 70 students enrolled in 2027, all living within the boundaries of the Bass Coast Shire. Most students travel to school by bus, with three buses servicing the areas of Grantville, Phillip Island and Inverloch.
The school is a purpose-built facility situated within the extensive Bass Coast Learning and Educational Precinct, with green fields bordering two sides of the grounds and the Bass Coast College senior campus located next door.
The school comprises eleven classrooms, each with an adjoining accessible bathroom, an indoor gymnasium, sensory room, engine room, art room, music room, teaching kitchen, consulting rooms and a hydrotherapy pool, which is nearing completion.
The school has expansive grounds that provide excellent opportunities for outdoor learning, recreation and play, complemented by a variety of play equipment. An extensive landscaping project in the Senior Area is planned for 2027. This exciting development will include a small amphitheatre, passive recreation areas, outdoor fitness stations, a small dual basketball and pickleball court, and additional playground spaces with equipment.
