About Aquinas College

New to Catholic schools? Our guide to teaching in Catholic schools covers RE accreditation, the diocesan system, pay, and how applications differ from government roles.

Role description

To fill a parental leave position on a fixed-term basis (not ongoing).
Commencing in late January 2027, concluding at the end of the academic year in November 2027.

Aquinas College, a Catholic tertiary College in North Adelaide, is a residential community of adult learners. Aquinas is home to 197 undergraduate students, mostly from rural and regional areas, who are studying at Adelaide’s universities. Aquinas is governed as an incorporated association by a College Council and forms part of the Catholic educational community of South Australia.

The College is seeking a Dean of Student Life to fill a parental leave position on a fixed-term basis, commencing late January 2027.

The Dean of Student Life takes a leading role in the life of the student body at Aquinas, working with student leaders to ensure the College is a positive, welcoming and well-structured environment. In addition to managing discipline, the Dean leads the development, implementation, and oversight of evidence-based wellbeing and student care programs, as well as assisting and supporting students individually.

The Dean of Student Life should relate easily and responsibly with young adults, and enjoy working in a community oriented around young people. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the current Dean of Student Life to ensure a smooth transition and consistency of service is maintained while the current Dean is on parental leave. All Aquinas staff are required during their employment to be supportive of Catholic values and the ethos of the College.
