Mudgee High School is a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school serving students in Years 7 to 12, located in Mudgee, NSW. The school offers a broad curriculum supported by several specialist programs. Students with high potential are catered for through dedicated high potential and gifted education pathways, alongside the Max Potential and Tournament of Minds programs. Position Information
Mudgee High School, Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI 115), was established in 1916 as a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school and sits in the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people. Mudgee is situated in the Central West of NSW with the school located within the Mudgee CBD and a member of the Mudgee Principals’ Network. The school's enrolment is 803 at the commencement of 2026 including a Support Unit with nine classes, with students from diverse socio–economic backgrounds, including 20% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 2% of students speaking English as a second language or dialect (EALD).
The school has strong ties with the Aboriginal community and a close association with the Mudgee Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG). It has continued to enjoy the support of the Mudgee community including its businesses, the school's partner primary schools, and Mudgee TAFE.
