Library Assistant - Medowie

Catherine McAuley Primary School, Medowie is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Library Assistant to join the founding team of our brand-new Catholic primary school.

This is a permanent part-time position (15 hours per week) commencing in Term 1, 2027.
The days of work have not yet been determined and may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Opening to students for the first time in 2027, Catherine McAuley Primary School will serve the growing Port Stephens community.
This is a unique opportunity to help establish a vibrant and welcoming library that will foster a lifelong love of reading, learning and inquiry among our inaugural students.

As Library Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operation of the school library, assisting with the organisation and maintenance of library resources, circulation services, displays and promotions, and the creation of an engaging learning environment for students and staff.
Working collaboratively with teachers and school leaders, you will help ensure the library becomes a dynamic and valued hub within the school community.

The successful applicant will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a passion for literacy and learning.
The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families will be essential.
