Outdoor School is a Victorian Department of Education & Training residential outdoor school providing "Education for Sustainable Living". Our educative purpose is ¿to develop future ready young people¿.  This position is based at our 15 Mile Creek Campus. Position will be 4 days per week and may increase from .60 to .80.

Selection Criteria

SC1

Demonstrated experience in a commercial or busy kitchen environment.

SC2

Demonstrated high-level verbal and written communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with staff, students and visitors.

SC3

Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning to enable further development of knowledge and skills.

SC4

Proven ability to function reliably with limited direct oversight, organising workflow, prep and service tasks in a busy catering environment. 

Role

The Catering Assistant (CA) primary role is work with the Catering Manager as an effective team to provide meals as part of the school program. The CA will report to and be responsible directly to the Catering Manager. In their absence, they will report to the Principal or their nominee.

From time to time performs and/or coordinates tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice and school policy.  This may include the guidance  of other staff within the work area or educational program.  Guidance  would be limited to ensuring routine tasks are performed to required standards.  Input into identifying training needs and development of education support class staff within the wo…
