Role description

Make a difference. Support safety. Empower education.

We are seeking a motivated and organised Work Health & Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join our school community in a 12-month replacement position. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional who is passionate about workplace safety, staff wellbeing, and providing high-quality administrative support.

About the Role

As the WHS Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the school's commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. Working under the general direction of the Principal (or delegate), you will coordinate and administer routine Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and Return to Work (RTW) activities while providing administrative support and general advice to school leaders and staff.

This position operates with a low level of supervision and requires a highly organised individual who can effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer day-to-day WHS and Return to Work (RTW) processes.
  • Maintain WHS records, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Support incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety initiatives.
  • Monitor and maintain WHS compliance activities and schedules.
  • Provide general WHS and RTW guidance to school leaders and staff.
  • Support the implementation of workplace safety programs and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required.
