Vocational Trainer and Assessor

The school of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) are seeking to establish a pool of Vocational Trainers and Assessors for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

Suitable applicants will prepare, deliver, and assess training programs in line with established delivery and assessment plans and strategies. They will instruct, train and assess groups of secondary students, delivering practical skill demonstrations where required. Suitable applicants would also induct and mentor students throughout their training, ensuring a clear understanding of course requirements, timelines, and available resources.

They will ideally, provide constructive feedback on student progress and assessment outcomes, offering guidance on future learning pathways. Suitable applicants will also contribute to the ongoing improvement of training and assessment resources by providing feedback and suggestions. Accurate maintenance of training records and timely reporting of assessment results will also be expected.

In addition, suitable applicants will ideally, establish and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders, including schools, students, parents, and employers. They will ideally display a commitment to safe work practices by complying with all relevant occupational health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
