About Autism Queensland

Role description

Are you looking to broaden your teaching experience, take on a new challenge, and step into a different team? We currently have a permanent full-time teaching position available at AQ Rockhampton school.

What’s in it for you?

  • Opportunity for Lower Primary teachers with capacity to teach aspects of all key learning areas (subjects) across our P-4 cohort.
  • Small classes of 6 students.
  • Become part of a growing, connected, and close-knit community of dedicated professionals, where your contributions are valued.
  • Opportunity to personalise learning and curriculum access – teach students where they are at and by what they need.
  • As a teacher you will be supported by the wider AQ School team and educational program.

“When you’re working for a purpose of bettering the lives of families or kids, the work you’re doing is that much more important.”

Our P-12 independent school has six campuses across the state and is built on a strong foundation of Specialist Teachers, Aides and Allied Health Professionals. Working in a collaborative environment, our dedicated teams offer a tailored, neuroaffirming approach to the learning experience of diverse learners.

As a Teacher, you’ll support the planning, teaching and assessment in an alternative, flexible model of learning for autistic students, embracing a holistic, strengths-based, and neurodiversity affirming approach as we strive to empower each student to thrive in an environment that fosters their individual growth.

From health and wellness programs to professional development, we encourage our staff to strive for a better balance.
