Role description

Position Details: 
Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School is a double-stream primary school located in Thornlie.  We strive to instil our school Loreto values of respect, reverence, responsibility, and resilience. Our school includes the Mary Ward Centre for Students with Disabilities, School run OSHC and
2-4 year old Long Day Care.

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Finance Officer to join our professional administration team. Workdays are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with flexible start and finish times available by agreement. This is a full-time, ongoing position to work 45 weeks as follows:
-    40 weeks during term time and 
-    2 weeks from mid January and 
-    3 weeks spread throughout the other remaining school holiday breaks.
The position includes four weeks of paid annual leave, to be taken during school holiday periods with the approval of the Principal.


Selection Criteria:

1.Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping, financial administration, and the preparation of financial reports.
2.Proven experience in financial processes, including preparing and administering budgets, cash flow management, accounts receivable and accounts payable and general ledger management.
3.Strong understanding and practical application of accrual accounting principles and practices.
4.Demonstrated experience in Business Activity Statement (BAS) preparation and strong understanding of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) principles.
