Role description

St Carlo Acutis Catholic Primary School invites caring and collaborative Learning Support Officers to join our foundation staff as we welcome our first students in January 2027.

Located in the Cardinia Creek South Precinct, our new Catholic primary school offers contemporary, purpose-built learning spaces and the opportunity to help establish a welcoming community where every child is known, valued and supported to learn. Inspired by St Carlo Acutis, we seek to nurture faith, compassion and a sense of belonging.

About the Role

Part-time, ongoing Learning Support Officer positions exist to work alongside teachers supporting student learning, participation and wellbeing, commencing on Wednesday 27 January 2027.

Hours and days will be discussed at the interview and negotiated with successful applicants.

Employment period: Ongoing

Under the supervision and direction of teachers, your responsibilities will include (a full role description is attached):

  • Supporting students individually and in small groups to access learning and participate in classroom activities.
  • Assisting with individualised learning approaches and intervention strategies to meet students’ needs.
  • Contributing to the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of student learning and progress.
  • Supporting the use of augmentative communication and adaptive technology where required.
  • Building positive relationships with students and working collaboratively with teachers and colleagues to promote inclusion, confidence and wellbeing.
