Role description

Position Type: Classroom Education Support | Employment Status: Fixed Term/Contract  | Classification Level: ESO3

Xavier College is seeking a dedicated Education Support Officer (ESO) - Curriculum for our Gawler Belt (7-12) campus. As an ESO, you will provide classroom support to teachers and students, helping to create an inclusive learning environment while contributing to the Catholic identity, Salesian ethos and mission of the College.

Commencing November 2026, this replacement, part-time contract position is offered from 12 November 2026 until 31 January 2028. This role is worked Monday to Friday, 8.45am – 3.00pm, across a 40-week school year. Commencement date is negotiable with the suitable candidate. 

 As ESO – Curriculum, you will:

  • Assist students individually and in small groups to support their learning, engagement and participation
  • Under teacher supervision, create engaging learning materials, provide direct student support, and contribute to College activities with student involvement
  • Supervise and care for students with formally identified additional needs in accordance with Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL)
  • Using applied personal knowledge, suggest modifications to educational programs to meet specific student learning needs
  • Assist with identifying student learning or behaviour challenges
  • Assist teachers with student supervision during excursions, sports activities, school events and yard assist, as required
