Role description

Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2026.

The Narre Warren South Campus is seeking a Percussion Tutor to provide individual and small group drumkit and orchestra percussion tuition during the school terms. Preferred days are Wednesday – Friday. The ability to teach Orchestral percussion is desirable. 

This is a contract position commencing in Term 1, January 2027. 

Skills particular to the job:

  • Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education
  • Deliver engaging lessons catering for a range of ability levels  
  • Motivate students to learn by demonstrating effective classroom management strategies and providing engaging lessons 
  • Provide lessons to inspire curiosity, critical thinking and musical growth 
  • Be aware of the needs of individual students and take realistic steps to meet those needs. 
  • Provide helpful feedback to parents on student progress  
  • Prepare students for performances and exams 
  • Communicate with staff and parents clearly, using verbal, written, and Microsoft platforms
