This is a permanent full-time position commencing December 2026

The Teacher Registration directorate comprises three branches: Registration and Customer Services, Investigations and Compliance, and Policy and Quality Assurance. The directorate is responsible for providing secretariat services to the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA). The directorate supports the Board’s mission of serving the public interest by ensuring that teachers are registered and teacher education programs are accredited in accordance with relevant legislation and in the best interests of children.

The Role

The Senior Investigator assists in the delivery of an investigative capability for the TRBWA and the conduct of related discipline and impairment review processes as well as contributing to providing operational leadership within the section. They conduct high-level, complex and sensitive investigations, including investigations regarding serious misconduct and serious impairment matters. This does include child protection matters that involve allegations of sexual misconduct and sexual abuse.

The successful applicant will conduct interviews with witnesses, including children, and prepare comprehensive reports on complex and sensitive investigations for presentation to TRBWA in a timely manner. They will be expected to prepare briefs of evidence for presentation at the State Administrative Tribunal of Western Australia, Magistrates Court and the TRBWA’s internal committees.
