Role description

A temporary full time position commencing 28 January 2027 until 26 January 2028. The successful applicant will support teachers to meet the needs of diverse learners in a mainstream and specialist settings by designing educational/pastoral interventions for students with additional needs. 

The role supports the student wellbeing, teaching as required and duties as directed by the Principal. The role of the Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
  • Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in KLA(s).
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
  • Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Experience adjusting class work and assessment activities for students with disabilities.
  • Experience leading meetings with parents and carers to support student learning.
  • Have Special education qualification and/or experience teaching in a specialised setting.
