Role description
We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants – Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Nulsen Primary School is a diverse Kindergarten to Year 6 school in Esperance. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where students are supported to belong, engage and achieve.
Our school uses a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), with strong classroom practices complemented by targeted learning, regulation and social-emotional supports. Education Assistants are an important part of this work and collaborate closely with teachers, school leaders and other support staff.

The Role
We are ideally seeking flexible, relational and proactive Special Needs Education Assistants to support students with a range of learning, disability, regulation and social-emotional needs.
Working under teacher direction, you may support individual students within classrooms, work with small groups or assist with targeted programs such as Buzz, BOOST and other social-emotional learning and regulation interventions.
Successful applicants will ideally be able to:
- build positive and respectful relationships with students;
- remain calm and consistent when supporting students experiencing dysregulation or challenging behaviour;
- support students to develop regulation, social-emotional, learning and independence skills;
