At Upper Ferntree Gully Primary School our whole community works together to support all students to achieve their full potential in learning and wellbeing. We provide opportunities for students to engage with our local community and to appreciate and respect the beautiful surrounds of Upper Ferntree Gully. In 2026 we have an enrolment of 84 students with 5 classes, we have 14 Education support staff actoss the classes to support students and teachers. Our school has a strong focus on inclusion and provides flexibility to support neurodivergent learners as well as neurotypical students. Our classrooms offer flexibility of learning breaks, accessible and inclusive seating options, flexibility for learning and plans for all students to be at school, engaged and ready to learn.

Upper Ferntree Gully Primary School's philosophy is that children's cognitive, physical, emotional and social skills develop at different rates. Understanding this means we plan a differentiated curriculum with personalised learning to meet individual needs. We pride ourselves on getting to know each of our students as an individual. Developing literacy, numeracy and critical thinking skills are a priority. The school believes integrating learning across core curriculum areas provides ways in which students can make connections and enhance learning. Our literacy approaches include Phonics - P-2 Little Learners Love Literacy, Talk for Reading and Talk for Writing.
