Primary Music Teacher

Are you a passionate, committed Music educator, keen to join an independent inner city girls school?

A full-time, permanent position is available for a qualified and experienced classroom Music Teacher to join our Primary School from the beginning of 2027. This position is a key role linking primary music education with the broader Primary Curriculum, while also supporting the full scope of learning experiences as part of our broad and dynamic K-12 Music Program.

Reporting to the Head of Primary and the Heads of Music, the successful applicant for this role will be an energetic, highly skilled, innovative and passionate teacher of Music. They will have expertise and experience in music curriculum design and implementation, particularly teaching students aged 5-12, and a commitment to employ both an Orff-Schulwerk and a Kodaly-based approach to music teaching and learning. They will also have the ability to integrate the teaching of Drama into the classroom Music program, as appropriate.

The successful applicant for this role will support and contribute to the broader Music Department programmes and its co-curricular activities. As key members of the K-12 Music staff, Primary Music teachers work collaboratively with other members of the Music team (including Heads of Music, Ensemble Directors and the Music Administrator) to coordinate performances such as Musicales, school services and primary concerts.
