Role description
Amata Anangu School is a small, remote school located on Anangu Country in the north-west corner of South Australia, surrounded by the Musgrave Ranges and approximately two hours from Uluru. The school is a vibrant bilingual learning community where Anangu Educators and teachers work side by side to provide culturally responsive, inclusive and engaging learning programs.
The Maintenance (Facilities & Grounds) employee plays a key role in keeping the school, grounds, facilities and equipment safe, functional and well maintained. Working closely with the Principal, staff, contractors and community, the role provides practical support across grounds maintenance, gardening, irrigation, repairs, equipment, vehicles, waste management, site security and staff accommodation.
This is a varied, hands-on role that requires initiative, practical problem-solving and the ability to work independently. The successful applicant will take pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment, identify issues before they become problems and work cooperatively with staff and contractors to get things done. The role also provides opportunities to contribute ideas and practical solutions that improve the school grounds and facilities for students, staff and community.
In addition to salary, the following incentives may apply:
