VET Teacher / Trainer

Selection Criteria

SC1: Curriculum Knowledge & Student Learning Needs

Demonstrated knowledge of relevant VET training packages and school curricula, including the capacity to integrate workplace literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrated experience in identifying and responding to the diverse learning needs of secondary students undertaking vocational pathways.

SC2: Teaching Strategies & Practical / Workshop Delivery

Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, specifically within practical, workshop, or simulated workplace environments. Demonstrated capacity to manage hands-on learning safely while evaluating the impact of training programs on student skill acquisition and competency growth.

SC3: Assessment, Compliance, and Industry Currency

Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student competency against stringent VET quality framework standards. Demonstrated maintenance of relevant industry currency, hold or working toward required credentials (such as TAE and VIT registration), and the ability to use compliance data and evidence to drive student progression.

SC4: Communication, Collaboration, and Industry Partnerships

Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated experience in building effective, collaborative relationships with students, parents, school colleagues, and external industry or Registered Training Organisation (RTO) stakeholders to support student engagement, transition, and wellbeing.
