Location Profile

Education has a long history on the Mickleham Primary School site, with the first school opening in 1865 in our beautiful blue-stone building. Though we are now in the fastest growth corridor in Melbourne, our well-established trees help maintain the country feel that the school is renowned for. In 2023 we moved into our new learning buildings and a year later our children gained the use of a large oval, two playgrounds and a sandpit. Our community values the beauty of our environment and importance of educating our children to embrace the natural world and promote conservation on our site and beyond.

Our enrolment has steadily increased as our neighbourhood has expanded. We currently have just over 340 proud Mickleham PS students who reflect our R.I.C.H. school values - Respect, Independence, Cooperation, and Honesty. Our students experience a well-balanced education through specialist classes in Physical Education, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics), Visual Arts & Performing Arts/Drama. Our teachers take their classes to our beautiful Library each week. We proudly learn AUSLAN as our Language Other Than English and integrate it into AUSLAN into our daily classroom routines, practices and Inquiry topics.
