Location Profile

Broken Creek Primary School is a small rural school located approximately 20 kilometres west of Benalla. The school currently has an enrolment of 34 students. While some students reside in the local community, the majority travel to school from Benalla and surrounding areas.

Our purpose is to ensure that Broken Creek Primary School is a place where everyone belongs, where students care for themselves and others, and where all members of our school community demonstrate pride in all aspects of Learning for Life. Our school values of Belong, Care and Pride underpin our approach to learning, relationships and wellbeing.

Our current staffing profile includes a Principal, three full-time teachers and six part-time Education Support staff. Specialist programs are also provided in areas including Art and Library.

A key focus for our school is improving student learning outcomes in Literacy and Numeracy. School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is embedded across the school and provides a consistent framework that supports positive behaviour, student engagement and wellbeing.

Students participate in a comprehensive curriculum that is enriched through a range of extracurricular activities and learning opportunities. The school is well resourced, with every student having access to an iPad to support their learning.
