Teacher (Physical Education)

Position Details:

St Gerard’s Catholic Primary School is a Kindergarten to Year 6 Mercy school in Westminster committed to faith-filled, inclusive and high-quality education.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to plan and deliver a sequential Kindergarten to Year 6 program aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum. The role will develop physical literacy, movement skills, confidence, teamwork and positive participation.
The successful applicant will provide safe and inclusive learning, differentiate for diverse needs and work collaboratively with staff. They will also coordinate, plan and deliver school carnivals, interschool sport and other allocated physical activity events.

Selection Criteria: 
•    Support the Catholic identity and Mercy values of St Gerard’s.
•    Strong knowledge of primary Physical Education curriculum and pedagogy.
•    Ability to plan, teach, assess and report on student learning.
•    Ability to differentiate for students with disability, medical needs and EAL/D backgrounds.
•    Ability to provide safe and engaging learning through effective supervision, behaviour support and risk management.
•    Capacity to coordinate carnivals and interschool sport, including fair and transparent team selection.
•    Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills.

Qualifications Required: 
•    Current TRBWA registration and Working with Children Check.
•    An appropriate tertiary teaching qualification.
•    Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School, or willingness to obtain it.
