Role description
The Learning Support Partner (LSP) role involves working as part of a team with our Learning Diversity Leaders other LSP's and alongside classroom teachers to provide support for students with additional and diverse needs.
The successful applicant will support student learning under the direction of teachers, working with individual and small groups of students to assist them with their educational programs and personalised learning goals.
LSPs are responsible for:
- maintaining the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care, alongside all staff in our school
- building positive relationships with children and assisting in creating learning environments where all are valued, engaged, and challenged
- working collaboratively to support the implementation of personalised learning strategies and programs as identified in students’ Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs)
- facilitating small group tasks/intervention groups, with support from teaching and/or allied health staff
- supporting with the provision of a learning environment that supports students’ sensory, regulation, processing and language needs
- engaging in ongoing professional learning and committing to ongoing improvement
- working collaboratively with a variety of teachers, allied health staff and learning support staff
- recording adjustments and program notes in line with NCCD evidentiary requirements
- demonstrating an understanding of child safety and the appropriate obligations and behaviours when engaging with students
