Role description
St John’s Lutheran School is located in Kingaroy, in the heart of the beautiful South Burnett. It has approximately 720 students across Prep to Year 12. The School’s third cohort of Year 12 is due to graduate at the end of 2026. In addition, a co-located Kindergarten is also on site. The school enrolments have increased dramatically with the introduction of senior secondary over the last few years and the numbers have consolidated in primary classes. Currently, there are waiting lists in a number of year levels
As a school of the Lutheran Church of Australia Queensland District, St John’s Lutheran School maintains strong links with local Lutheran congregations nearby and enjoys a close relationship with St John’s Lutheran Church, Kingaroy.
The St John’s Lutheran School Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Principal.
The School Council is seeking an authentic leader with a proven record of engaging in community building and Christian service, and who is an active communicant member of the Lutheran Church of Australia.
The next Principal will embrace the culture of St John’s Lutheran school whilst leading change in a contemporary educational environment.
Ideally, the new Principal will take up the position from the commencement of Term 1, 2027.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a Lutheran educator to help shape the dynamic future of this growing school, to create traditions as the secondary continues to expand and consolidate.
