Role description
In partnership with College leaders, the Clan Guardian works with homegroup teachers and families, you will lead and coordinate pastoral care initiatives that promote student wellbeing, engagement and personal growth. You will be a visible and approachable presence within the school community, supporting students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally while helping to strengthen Clan culture and connectedness.
This position includes a teaching component and should be read in conjunction with the responsibilities of a teaching role. The key responsibilities are to:
- Build strong pastoral relationships with students in Years 10-12 and support their wellbeing, personal growth and engagement.
- Lead and implement wellbeing and pastoral care programs that respond to the needs of individual students and year levels.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, counsellors and College leaders to support student outcomes.
- Mentor student leaders and oversee Clan activities, meetings and community-building initiatives.
- Support student transitions, orientation programs and leadership development opportunities.
- Lead Clan events and contribute to key College activities including sporting and community events.
- Maintain accurate pastoral records and manage administrative requirements associated with student care and wellbeing.
