EAL/D Teacher - St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park

The Executive Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this permanent full time position as an EAL/D Teacher at St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park commencing 28 January 2027.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position sits within the Learning K-12 Team, the position requires significant experience in curriculum and the capacity to support EAL/D students within Primary Schools. This role is part of a wider EAL/D team and as such, the EAL/D Teacher will be required to:

• Collaborate with the School Leadership Team and CEDoW EAL/D Officers.
• Work within the school team to implement the EAL/D Management Plan responsibilities.
• Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities in order to build teacher capacity.
• Coordinate, facilitate and respond to the collection of student work samples and assessment data.
• Support EAL/D students’ learning needs through a range of pedagogical processes, including collaborative planning, co-teaching with classroom teachers and the design of student learning plans. 

ABOUT YOU 

• Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• A well-articulated understanding and application of student-centred, quality EAL/D pedagogical practices that are grounded in current evidence-based research.
• The ability to identify EAL/D students’ needs and plan for appropriate student support K-6.
• Apply expert knowledge of the diverse needs of students of EAL/D to support their full participation in learning.
