Role description

Early Learning Assistant 

Full-time - 38 hours per week

Fixed Term - 12 months

Commencing Term 1, 2027

 

The Geelong College is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Early Learning Assistant to support the teaching staff and children in the day-to-day operation of our Early Learning Centre.

Working collaboratively as part of the Early Learning team, you will contribute to providing a dynamic, creative and interactive learning environment that supports children’s learning, development and wellbeing. 

The successful applicant will assist with the implementation of learning programs, contribute to inviting indoor and outdoor learning spaces, support daily routines and activities, and help create a safe, positive and engaging environment for children. 

  

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Diploma of Children's Services (child-care) or equavilent 
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Philosophy (desirable) 
  • Understanding of the National Quality Framework, the National Education and Care Services Regulations, the National and Victorian Early Years Learning Frameworks 
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC), or ability to obtain
  • Evidence of Right to Work in Australia
  • Completion of Asthma for Schools Certificate (free course)
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID011), CPR (HLTAID0009) and asthma management certification
  • Completion of the College anaphylaxis qualification
  • Have completed the Protecting Children - Mandatory Reporting and other Obligations Non Government Schools module
