Position Details: 
 
Mater Dei College has the opportunity for a Physical and Outdoor Education Assistant (Traineeship) to become an integral part of the College’s Health and Physical Education Learning Area.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and organised individual with a passion for sport, physical activity and working with young people. This traineeship provides an exciting opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience within a secondary school environment while completing an accredited Certificate III in Sports, Aquatics and Recreation through TAFE.

The Physical and Outdoor Education Assistant will support the delivery of the College’s physical and outdoor education programs, helping to create a safe, engaging and positive learning environment for students.

The successful applicant will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including:
• Assisting teaching staff with the preparation and delivery of Physical and Outdoor Education and specialist lessons.
• Supporting and supervising students during physical activities, encouraging participation, safety and inclusivity.
• Assisting with the planning and delivery of College sporting events, camps and extracurricular activities.
• Supporting the organisation, administration and delivery of ACC and CAS programs.
• Assisting with the coordination and administration of camps and excursions.
• Setting up, maintaining and organising sporting and outdoor education equipment and resources.
