Role description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Early Years experienced/knowledge Special Education Teacher to join our school community. The successful applicant will develop engaging, personalised and play-based learning programs that respond to each student's strengths, interests, communication needs and developmental level.

The teacher will work collaboratively with families, SSOs, leadership and allied health professionals to support meaningful participation and positive outcomes for every student.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement and evaluate inclusive, developmentally appropriate and play-based learning programs aligned with relevant curriculum requirements.
- Use intentional teaching through play to develop communication, social interaction, regulation, independence, physical development and early literacy and numeracy skills.
- Develop, implement and review personalised One Plans with meaningful and measurable learning goals.
- Use a range of communication supports, including visuals, symbols, AAC and assistive technologies.
- Develop and follow individual Ready to Learn Plans, health care plans, risk-management processes and other relevant student support plans.
- Create safe, stimulating and accessible learning environments that encourage choice, curiosity, exploration and connection.
- Make reasonable adjustments to support students with diverse sensory, physical, communication, behavioural and learning needs.
