Contract position for one year with potential for ongoing
Reports to: Classroom Teacher / Director of Education Support Centre / Director of Teaching & Learning
Role Purpose
The Learning Support Officer supports the educational mission and Christian ethos of the school by assisting teachers in the delivery of learning programs and supporting students to engage positively in learning. The role contributes to inclusive education and student wellbeing while upholding Anglican values, school policies and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support
- Support individual students and small groups with learning activities under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Assist students with additional learning needs, including students with disability, learning difficulties, behavioural or social‑emotional needs.
- Support students’ wellbeing, social skills and positive behaviour, modelling respectful and caring relationships consistent with Anglican values.
- Assist with personal care, mobility or health‑related support where required, in accordance with training and school policies.
- Supervise students during lessons, excursions, camps, chapel services and playground duty as directed.
Classroom and Learning Support
- Prepare and organise learning materials, resources and equipment.
- Support classroom routines and transitions.
- Assist with the implementation of learning adjustments, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behaviour support plans or pastoral care strategies.
