Role description

About the role: 

The College is currently recruiting for the role of a Secondary History teacher within the Secondary school, with the ability to teach Senior History (Modern History and Ancient History), as well as Society and Culture. 

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging, and differentiated learning experiences for all students
  • Integrate Maronite Catholic ethos, values, and Gospel teachings into daily learning and school life
  • Actively contribute to the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of students
  • Use effective assessment practices to monitor student progress and inform teaching
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to enhance student learning and wellbeing
  • Participate in school liturgies, celebrations, and community events

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Australian Teaching qualifications and previous Australian teaching experience
  • A current NESA accreditation
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment
  • Demonstrated administrative skills, with high level of flexibility and adaptability and ability to prioritise and work as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability in integrating ICT in the classroom
  • Experience in using engaging and relevant learning experiences
  • Experience teaching in mixed ability classrooms
  • Thorough understanding and experience in applying formative and summative practices to assess student learning

The role is being offered on a temporary fixed term basis commencing at the start of Term 1 of 2027, for the entirety of the 2027 school year.
