Strings Instrumental Music Tutor

Large multi-campus Christian school

Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,900 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.

Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community. In doing this, we aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study, careers, service and life in general.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Strings (Violin or Viola)Instrumental Music Tutor at our Pakenham campus to provide individual tutoring for preliminary through to VCE students and support the Music teacher with delivery of the Year 2 strings program. For the right candidate, there is also the possibility of a role as Strings Coordinator.

Having obtained relevant qualifications and experience as an instrumental music tutor, the successful candidate will also possess the following important characteristics:

·       Demonstrated commitment to the school’s Statement of Faith

·       Ability to provide a godly example to students and fellow staff members through their teaching practice, manner, relationships and general lifestyle

·       Ability to offer flexible teaching methods to suit individual student needs

·       Experience preparing students for AMEB and VCE exams (essential)

·       Experience directing strings orchestra and/or strings quartet (desirable)
