About the Role
The Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) is a senior teaching and leadership position responsible for delivering high-quality learning programs, assessing student progress, and supporting student achievement. The role also assists the Principal and Assistant Principal in curriculum development, educational planning, staff mentoring, resource management, and school improvement initiatives.
ASTs provide leadership beyond the classroom through pastoral care, extracurricular activities, professional development of teachers, and collaboration with parents and the wider community. The position requires exemplary teaching skills, strong leadership and communication abilities, a commitment to student wellbeing, and adherence to the Department's values of Connection, Courage, Growth, Respect, and Responsibility.
