Role description
Support young people to re-engage in learning in one of Australia's most unique and culturally rich school communities.
Ernabella Anangu School is a Birth to Year 12 Aboriginal school located in Pukatja Community on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands in the far northwest corner of South Australia. Ernabella is the largest community in the APY Lands and is home to the world-famous Ernabella Art Centre, surrounded by the stunning western Musgrave Ranges, approximately 330 kilometres south-west of Alice Springs.
Most students speak Pitjantjatjara as their first language and learn Standard Australian English as an additional language or dialect. The school works closely with Anangu educators, families and community members to provide high-quality, culturally responsive education in a strong two-way learning environment.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tailored Learning Teacher to join our team. This position will focus on developing personalised, flexible programs for secondary students who are at risk of disengaging, or who have already disengaged, from education. The role involves delivering engaging learning aligned with relevant curriculum and SACE requirements, with a strong emphasis on literacy, numeracy, practical learning, wellbeing, and future pathways.
Working alongside the Tailored Learning Case Manager/Youth Worker, Anangu educators, families and external services, the successful teacher will:
*set individual learning and engagement goals
*monitor student progress
*support pathways into further education, training and employment
