Role description
Teacher of Learning Strategies
Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a passionate Teacher of Learning Strategies in our Middle School, Wadhurst, at our South Yarra campus. This is a full-time, ongoing position commencing in Term 1, 2027.
The role of the Teacher of Learning Strategies is to facilitate and support student learning, across all domains including social and emotional, academic, physical and spiritual, with the goal to maximise the individual growth of students in a challenging and supportive environment. The Learning Strategies Teacher plays a vital role in supporting students who require learning adjustments, curriculum modifications, and targeted intervention. This role involves working collaboratively with classroom teachers to ensure that all students can access and engage meaningfully with the curriculum. This is an ongoing, full-time teaching position.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide targeted learning support for students in Years 7 and 8 through in-class, small group and individualised interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers, families and the Learning Strategies team to develop and implement effective learning plans and support strategies.
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress, using data and assessment information to inform educational support and outcomes.
- Support students with diverse learning needs through evidence-based practices, assistive technologies and appropriate adjustments.
