About the role

Melbourne Girls Grammar is seeking a knowledgeable, innovative and engaging educator to join the collaborative team working across the Junior Years Program and our Modern Languages Faculty as a Part Time (0.50 FTE) Teacher of Italian teaching Prep to Year 4.

Based at our Morris Hall Junior School Campus in South Yarra, you will inspire a love of language learning and Italian culture in our youngest learners while contributing to a dynamic and supportive teaching environment.

  • Part-time (0.50FTE), Ongoing Position   

  • Work Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate a high-quality Italian language program for Prep to Year 4 students

  • Create engaging learning experiences that develop students' confidence in communicating in Italian

  • Incorporate contemporary pedagogical approaches and a range of language-teaching methodologies

  • Differentiate learning to meet the diverse needs, interests and abilities of students

  • Foster an appreciation and understanding of Italian language and culture

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance curriculum and learning programs

  • Utilise technology, online learning tools and multimedia resources to support student engagement and learning outcomes

  • Monitor, assess and report on student progress in accordance with School requirements

  • Build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues, contributing to the broader life of the School
