Role description

Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2026.

The Wantirna South Campus is seeking Secondary English Teachers to commence in January 2027, including one permanent full-time position and one fixed-term part-time position (0.4-0.6 FTE). The part-time role is a 12-month parental leave replacement.

We are looking for a teacher who loves engaging young people in the study of literature and language, can bring creativity and clarity to the classroom, and is committed to fostering critical thinking, communication skills, and a genuine enjoyment of English.

You’ll join a community of educators who care deeply about the formation of students and are learners themselves, committed to professional growth, collaborative practice, and the shared calling of preparing young people to live out their faith and learning for the sake of others.

The successful applicant must:

  • Be a qualified teacher and hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
  • Be able to teach English
  • Have high level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
  • Be willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities.
