Role description
St Margaret Mary’s Primary School is seeking applications from passionate Learning Support Officers (LSOs) for full-time, fixed-term positions commencing in 2026. (some scope for FTE negotiations for successful applicant). These roles will support primary-aged students funded under the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) program.
Role Overview
The Learning Support Officer (LSO) supports students who need additional help so they can participate fully in the school’s classes, activities, and events - including excursions and camps..
This role is aimed at individuals who bring advanced skills and experience in classroom support, including the ability to:
- Deliver and assist with the modification of learning activities under the direction of a teacher.
- Timely, daily recording on student learning, progress and goals in collaboration with teachers.
- Support curriculum delivery through targeted intervention, small-group work, and in-class support.
The successful applicants will play a key role in supporting the school’s Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement, ensuring that every student experiences equity and excellence in their learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Work effectively with students who have physical, cognitive, sensory, and/or social-emotional disabilities or challenges
- Assist students individually or in small groups in specific learning areas, guided by teachers and the Wellbeing/Learning Diversity team.
