About Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga

New to Catholic schools? Our guide to teaching in Catholic schools covers RE accreditation, the diocesan system, pay, and how applications differ from government roles.

Role description

Why Work for Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga?

Catholic Education, Diocese of Wagga Wagga (CEDWW) serves twenty-four primary schools, five secondary colleges and two boarding facilities.

In joining CEDWW, you will be part of a vibrant Catholic education community, with a shared dedication to providing quality education to students. Our schools are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where students can grow academically, socially, and spiritually. We achieve this through our schools being communities of Welcome, Faith, Service and Learning.

We support employees in their career journeys by offering various options for job mobility, promotional opportunities, and a comprehensive suite of professional development programs.

Your New Role

The Aboriginal School and Community Educator exists to support Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wagga Wagga (CEDWW) and works with school communities to provide a welcoming and safe place for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and their children.

As the schools are located in Wiradjuri/Yorta Yorta country, and in accordance with tradition, the term Aboriginal will be used to refer to both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, parents and carers.

Aboriginal School and Community Educators will engage in opportunities which support the learning, pastoral and spiritual wellbeing of Aboriginal students, their families and community. Communication with Aboriginal families, school personnel and forming partnerships with local Aboriginal organisations and Elders is essential.
