Role description

An opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Officer at Sacred Heart Parish School, Sandringham. This position is a 0.61 FTE (4 days = 23hrs per week Tuesday - Friday 8:45am - 3:00pm) to commence Week 1 Term 1, 2027. The role is fixed-term until the end of August 2027, as parental leave.  Times and days can potentially be negotiated. 

The role of a Learning Support Officer is to ensure all students are provided with assistance to achieve competency within the normal range of student outcomes or in accordance with their individual learning plans.

To be successful in this position you will have the following:

Be able to provide 1:1 support to a student if required.

Be able to provide physical support and medical needs to a student if required e.g toileting and physical needs.

To work as part of a team.

The ability to work closely with staff, students, and parents.

Sound Literacy and Numeracy skills.

Take detailed notes of students you work with for NCCD evidence.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with people at all levels.

Keep privileged information confidential.

Be able to obtain a Police clearance and Working with Children Check
