School Psychologist (Pre-Primary to Year 7)

Hale School is Western Australia's oldest independent boys' school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48-hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.

Hale School is seeking applications from enthusiastic, experienced and well-qualified professionals for the position of School Psychologist (Junior School to Year 7).

The School Psychologist plays a vital role in supporting the social, emotional, behavioural and educational wellbeing of students from Pre-Primary to Year 7. Working collaboratively with students, families, teaching staff, learning support personnel and external providers, the successful applicant will provide psychological assessment, intervention, consultation and wellbeing support, while contributing to a whole-school approach to student wellbeing and pastoral care.

The successful applicant will meet the following Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrated ability to build positive, supportive and professional relationships with students, staff and families.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex psychological information in a clear and practical manner.

• Highly developed counselling, consultation and case management skills.

• Experience supporting children and young adolescents with a range of social, emotional, behavioural and learning needs.
