Role description

Position Details: 
We are seeking a suitably qualified, vibrant and enthusiastic individual who will work cooperatively with all staff and parents to develop an interesting and engaging learning environment for all children within their care. The school invites suitable applicants to apply for the full time, temporary classroom teaching position, commencing 1 January 2027 and concluding 31 December 2027.

St Joseph’s School is a single stream co-educational Catholic primary school located in the town of Kununurra, catering for students from 3YOK to Year Six. Our teaching staff are part of a strong learning community, focused on developing the whole child through quality teaching and a collaborative learning environment. We are committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.  

Selection Criteria: 
•    Have a sound knowledge and understanding of current practices concerning child safety 
•    Be committed to the values of Catholic Education 
•    A sound understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and contemporary educational theories and practices. 
•    Have demonstrated classroom teaching experience that enhances the individual needs of their students, including a passion for working with First Nations students and those with special needs 
•    Have excellent classroom management skills 
•    Demonstrate the capacity and enthusiasm required to build community with staff, parents, students and the wider community.
