Role description
Position Details
We are seeking a dedicated and committed Gifted and Talented Teacher to join our College. This part-time (FTE: 0.4), temporary position (12-month contract) commencing Term 1, 2027. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students, foster curiosity, critical thinking, and contribute to a vibrant, high performing learning environment.
Reporting to the Head of Learning Area – Gifted and Talented, you will work collaboratively to support and enhance learning opportunities for students identified as gifted and talented. You will contribute to developing and implementing programs that appropriately challenge, extend and support highly able students, enabling them to maximise their academic potential and pursue excellence in their areas of strength.
Responsibilities as a Gifted and Talented Teacher:
Gifted and Talented Teaching Practice:
• Teaching year 7 – 8 Gifted and Talented students.
• Develop higher order thinking programs that that reflect the principles of an extension curriculum model.
Administrative Responsibilities:
• Document student performance and ensure accurate records are maintained.
• Ensure academic successes are collated and reported during the year.
Co-Curricular Activities:
• Organise and attend all relevant co-curricular activities which often occur outside of school hours, such as, World Scholars, Tournament of the Minds and various interschool club competitions.
