Role description


This is a permanent part-time (0.4TE) position commencing October 2026

The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for, and implements the decisions of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority). The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.

The Role

The Principal Consultant – Primary Curriculum and Assessment role focuses on strengthening the quality, consistency and delivery of English curriculum and assessment across the primary years of schooling.

The role leads the development, review and implementation of curriculum and assessment support materials aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline and oversees moderation processes that support consistent and comparable standards across the State. The position requires strong curriculum and assessment expertise, together with the capacity to provide leadership and authoritative advice in primary English curriculum, assessment and standards.
