Selection Criteria

SC1. Educational leadership and a demonstrated commitment to improving student learning outcomes

Demonstrated capacity to provide instructional leadership that improves student learning outcomes, with a strong understanding of evidence-informed teaching practices, assessment and data-informed decision making. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with teachers to strengthen teaching and learning, while supporting Birralee Primary School's commitment to developing confident, curious and highly capable learners.

SC2. Leadership of teaching, learning and school improvement

Demonstrated capacity to lead significant aspects of whole-school improvement, including the implementation and evaluation of initiatives aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, VTLM 2.0 and the school's Strategic Plan. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to translate strategic priorities into effective classroom practice, build collective teacher efficacy and contribute positively to a culture of continuous improvement.

SC3. Leadership of staff, collaboration and professional culture

Demonstrated capacity to build strong, respectful and productive professional relationships and to lead, support and develop staff. The successful applicant will demonstrate emotional intelligence, sound judgement and the ability to manage complex and sometimes challenging situations in a calm, fair and constructive manner.
