Role description

Heritage College Perth is a K-12 College located in the beautiful, tree-lined foothills of Perth in Forrestfield. We have developed a strong student culture and a safe, supportive learning environment which reinforces Bible-based beliefs and values. Our students are recognised for their strong academic achievements and enjoy a close-knit and caring school community.

We are seeking to employ an experienced, inspirational, and enthusiastic Secondary English Teacher. This is a 0.8fte role across 5 days commencing Term 1, 2027. The role may include Pastoral Care duties with one of our combined secondary cohorts and therefore would suit someone who is passionate about teenagers and the unique challenges and opportunities which they face at this important stage of their development and learning. There may also be the need to teach in a secondary learning area, but these will be considered to suit the strengths of the successful candidate.

Suitable applicants should ideally be able to demonstrate their:

  • successful experience in teaching English to Secondary students (Yr7-10), including Yr 11-12 ATAR, General and Foundation English
  • familiarity with the content of the WA English Junior and Senior Curriculum as prescribed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority of Western Australia
  • Potential skill set to coordinate Primary extension classes
  • passion for inspiring a love of learning in students, in particular, teenagers
  • ability to engage with students to teach a variety of writing styles and literacy genres
